My work is springs from a simple ethos:
What we say matters. How we say it matters.
Words don’t just describe the world, they create it.
My work as a writer, editor and teacher springs from a desire to use the power of words for good, and help others do the same.
After more than 15 years as a full-time journalist, I started teaching English composition and fell in love with education (again). Over the past seven years, I’ve taught English language arts, literature, writing and ESL to students aged 12 to adult.
I hold a Master’s in Education and a Master’s in Creative Writing.
My work has appeared in publications including International Living, Pennyblackmusic and SmarthMouth. It has graced most British music magazines, including Q, Clash, Dummy, Mixmag and DJ. Essays, opinion and travel writing have appeared the Guardian, Transition, The Nervous Breakdown, 1842, Mslexia and more.
