I am proud and excited to present my first book:
Vine Lives: Oregon Wine Pioneers
Oregon is one of the world’s most exciting wine destinations, and a magnet for Pinot Noir fans from across the globe. This travel-cum-wine guide tells the story of its extraordinary wine industry through the personal accounts of its pioneering winemakers and viticulturists. Vine Lives contains fifteen profiles based on exclusive interviews with the owners and winemakers of some of Oregon’s most revered wineries, including: Adelsheim, A to Z Wineworks, Ponzi, Montinore, Abacela, Elk Cove, Ghost Hill Cellars, and Illahe.
Written to appeal to novices and oenophiles alike, Oregon Wine Pioneers weaves together practical information on Oregon’s distinctive climate, geology, agriculture grape varieties, history, and ethos, with heartwarming, inspiring true stories of adventure, challenge and triumph over the odds.
More than “just” a wine guide, Oregon Wine Pioneers is a snapshot of a unique time and place, and an homage to the creativity and courage of a self-selected group of pioneers who turned fallow land into a world-class wine region.
In addition to the profiles, OWP contains full-color photos throughout, maps, directions, and restaurant and activity guides for Portland, Forest Grove, Newburg, McMinnville, Salem and Southern Oregon – all as recommended by the local winemakers.
